In the event of an internet connection failure, the app will detect its location on your home’s wifi coverage map and, if necessary, specialists from Telia will be able to assist you remotely.

You can pick up your Smart Wifi router and support devices from a shop, parcel machine, courier or Telia technician, and return your old rental router to a shop.

Smart Wifi service is needed for an apartment or house where, for whatever reason, wifi does not spread evenly with a regular router. For example, thick walls and glazed windows can weaken the wifi signal.

When it comes to connectivity, does it matter whether the Internet reaches your home via cable or over the air (4G or 5G)?

Smart Wifi functions with both over-the-air and wired Internet routers.

NB! If you have an external router with an over-the-air connection (4G or 5G), to use Smart Wifi, disconnect your previous range extender from the electricity grid and disconnect the network cable behind the router when you pick up your Smart Wifi devices. Then use the Smart Wifi range extender instead of the current one.

If you have previously received a wifi router with your external router, you can return it to Telia in the self-service by selecting ‘Stop service’ under the device’s actions.

A Smart Wifi support device (range extender) is an accessory for your router, which helps ensure uniform wifi coverage and speed.

The Smart Wifi service requires a Telia Home Internet connection. You can set up your Wi-Fi network with the free Telia Smart Control app, which you can download to your smartphone or tablet computer from the App Store or Google Play store.

The Telia Smart Control app guides you through the setup of range extenders and advises you where to place them.
