Check Out Future Technologies in Tallinn Tomorrow

Tomorrow, when Tallinn celebrates Europe Day, the Embassy of Sweden in Tallinn will open its courtyard to guests to introduce, together with Telia and Ericsson, various future technologies and offer entertainment for the whole family.

On Saturday, May 7, traditional Europe Day celebrations will take place in Tallinn. The Embassy of Sweden joins the celebrations with the focus on digital development.

The day at the Embassy is filled with different activities that are arranged together with Telia and Ericsson showing how mobile technology will shape our daily lives in the future.

Because Tallinn and Stockholm and the first two cities where Ericsson and Telia want to introduce 5G mobile technology already in 2018, it will be possible to get a glimpse at 5G possibilities in Tallinn this Saturday.

Guests can try out virtual reality glasses and use them to travel around the digital world by enjoying 360-degree views of famous places in Sweden like the Lund cathedral and the city of Malmö. It will also be possible to have your picture taken on digital Swedish backgrounds.

Ericsson will set up a touch screen, which will also focus on the future – it’s called “Life in 2025“. At 1 p.m., a transport robot made by Starship Technologies will arrive at the Embassy yard.

In addition to the future, we can take a look in the past – 25 years ago Estonia’s first mobile network was opened. To celebrate this anniversary, Telia created a small exhibition, which shows different mobile phones and the most important mobile events of the past 25 years.

The Embassy of Sweden will also hold a prize draw for a chance to win a cruise from Tallink, a smartwatch from Telia, and several other exciting prizes. Guests are offered snacks, and there will be balloons and a children’s corner to occupy the little ones.

The Embassy of Sweden is located at 28 Pikk str in Tallinn, and it is open for guests on Saturday between 11 a.m and 3 p.m.
