Movie Expert Karlo Funk to Start as Head of Content Acquisitions at Telia
Karlo Funk, who is well known among Estonian film and culture enthusiasts, joined Telia last week to start as Head of Entertainment and Multimedia Content Acquisitions.
Karlo Funk has been active in the field of film and culture as a critic, TV show host, and he has also worked on assigning government funding to the film industry.
“During the past few years, I have been the CEO of Estonian Institute, which promotes Estonian culture abroad. My work as the representative of Estonia in Eurimage, the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe, gave me a good overview of how various sources, including telecommunications companies, help to fund the creation of movies.
According to Karlo Funk, TV channels, TV series, movies, and online streaming are becoming increasingly closely interconnected in the evolving media landscape.
“Telia’s digital television is the best example of how the experience of producing traditional content and new technological possibilities can be combined. TV series, entertainment channels, news, and new Estonian movies – in addition to being able to watch them on the big screen at any given time, we can now also watch the programs anywhere, and on multiple screens.
According to Karl Anton, TV and Multimedia Area Manager at Telia, Karlo Funk joined the company at an exciting time which is full of changes, because Telia’s plans in terms of TV services for the coming year are full of surprising and innovative solutions.
“We will launch several new solutions to complement the local TV services market, which will enrich our customers’ user experience even more. We will soon reveal the details of our plans, so stay tuned.“ Karl Anton added.
