Telia’s Mobile Service Quality Has Improved in Many Parts of Estonia
Telia has installed a number of new base stations throughout Estonia during the first nine months of the year. The new base stations as equipped with 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS), and 4G (LTE) devices.
The new base stations have improved the quality mobile service in the following parts of Estonia:
- Harju county, Alliku village
- Pärnu county, Rukkiküla
- Järva county, Käravete village
- Tallinn, Rannamõisa Selver area
- Ida-Viru county, Valaste village
- Hiiu county, Tahkuna peninsula
- Tartu, Ringtee 3
- Tallinn, Kalju street
- Järva county, Kurla street
- Saare county, Karala street
- Lääne county, Topu street
- Pänu county, Soomaa Visitor Center (GSM and UMTS were set up in the first stage)
- Rapla county, Vaimõisa village
- Valga county, Otepää, Hundisoo
- Harju county, Tabasalu, recreation building area
- Harju county, Soodevahe village
- Ida-Viru county, Remniku
- Pärnu, Vana-Sauga street area
“Additionally, we have improved indoor coverage by using UMTS900 and LTE800 technologies in Kuressaare, Võru, Rakvere, Põlva, Keila, and in western part of Harju county. To improve indoor coverage of LTE, we have increase the number of stations in Pärnu and Tartu – these projects are still underway,“ said Ermo Pola, Manager of Radio Network at Telia Eesti AS.
In the beginning of this year, Telia launched a completely new service to the market, which offers Home Internet and TV service over 4G mobile network. Because the service has become very popular with over 10,000 subscriptions (and over half of them use TV service as well), Telia has increased the capacity in over 150 LTE stations in order to ensure service quality.
