Telia Tests Faster Speeds in Copper Network
The tests include broadband customers who are located within 400 meters of Telia’s network hubs. The tests are run until the end of January.
“We know that VDSL makes it possible to increase speeds by up to 10 times. The testing enables us to make sure that services work smoothly over our cables used simultaneously by several customers with different line lengths,“ said Toivo Praakel, Network Director at Telia Estonia.
During the testing, Telia will provide customers with new routers (DG400 Prime) and speeds of up to 100 Mbps for download and 25 Mbps for upload.
“If the tests are successful, we will launch broadband plans with speeds of up to 200 Mbps for our copper network customers. During the next few years, we will expand the 10-times faster network across Estonia,“ Toivo Praakel added.
